Teaching Experience: Volunteering in many elementary classrooms and working as a TA during my Undergrad years led me to teacher’s college. I completed my teacher’s education at the University of Toronto and received my B.Ed. with a teachable of general science. My practicum placements took me to several classrooms ranging from Grade 5 to Grade 12. I joined the Khalsa School team in 2009.
About Me: I enjoy an active lifestyle and like to stay busy in many Sikhi related programs. During my free time I help organize Sikh retreats for the youth and continue to attend Sikh retreats/camps/training programs to further my own knowledge. I have a passion for Classical Kirtan (Raag Kirtan) not only on the harmonium, but with Tanti Saaj (Dilruba), and am currently enrolled in a 3 year program through Raj Musicals and the London College of Music.

Teaching Experience: I received a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary in 2007. During my program I had two practicum placements at two different elementary schools in Calgary. I joined the Khalsa School Calgary School Staff in January 2008 and continue to work as the grade one teacher.
About Me: I am an outgoing person who enjoys trying new things. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being active by skating, working out and being outdoors, travelling, and baking.

Teaching Experience: I earned my Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from the University of Alberta in June of 1998 and started my teaching career that fall. I have taught grades one, three, four, and five as an elementary generalist in the public, charter, and private school systems. I have also taught adult English as a Second Language classes in the summer.
About Me: I was born in Hong Kong, raised in Edmonton, and have lived in Fox Lake, John D’or Prairie, and Calgary. My husband and I have resided in Airdrie since 2007. I enjoy reading, needlework, hiking, and movies. My favourite subject to teach is Language Arts.

I from Brandon, Manitoba. Throughout high school and university I volunteered in man y elementary school classrooms and with a variety of youth organizations. I also worked as a summer camp counselor and an educational support aid for children with special needs. After completing a Bachelor of Arts degree, I pursued my interest in education by studying Primary/Junior Education at the University of Ottawa. In 2009 I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher in Canmore, Alberta. This is my second year teaching at Khalsa School Calgary. I very much enjoy teaching grade 3, directing the school choir, and helping out with extra-curricular activities. In my free time I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and singing in
a choir. I also like spending time with my friends and family.

Ms. Karamjit Kaur Seran
Hometown: Winnipeg, Manitoba
Teaching Experience: I graduated last year from the University of Winnipeg. I hold two degrees; Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education. My teachable areas are in Science and Math, although at my previous job (Sylvain Learning Centre), I did get to teach a variety of different subjects. I also taught a variety of different classes during my practicum and from each class I learned something new.
About Me: I recently moved to Calgary and I am enjoying my teaching position at Khalsa School Calgary. It had always been my dream to serve my own community, and my dream finally came true. I learned a lot from my teaching blocks but still have a lot to learn. I will continue to grow as I gain more experience and inspiration from students, staff and community. My goal at Khalsa School Calgary is to combine my knowledge with my abilities to be a compassionate and enthusiastic teacher to make learning meaningful, understandable and enjoyable for my students. I am proud to be a part of such a hard working team.
