EDUCATING BEYOND THE ALBERTA CURRICULUM
We believe that it is important for our young children to learn skills that can be useful for them in the future. It is important to not only offer a strong academic program, but also a great character education program that will help them develop and grow into great citizens and leaders. At Khalsa School Calgary, we will be teaching the students about "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People". The students will learn to use these habits, which will help them to be more effective in school and at home. We encourage parents to read the book "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" written by Stephen R. Covey. This will assist the parents in being able to communicate effectively with their children.
TECHNOLOGY ENRICHED LEARNING
Technology is now an integral part of the educational system. Khalsa School Calgary will deliver technology enriched learning for all students to meet the demands of today's high-tech world. We are very priviledged to have a SMARTboard in every classroom.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Khalsa School Calgary recognizes the importance of extracurricular activities and therefore, will be offering a wide range of sports/activities for students to participate. Extracurricular activities will help students develop leadership skills, make healthy choices, and be cooperative team members.
LIMITED CLASS SIZE
Small student-teacher ratio will provide an ample opportunity for students to interact with their teachers and to learn the most from them. This enables teachers to identify the individual needs of students and use a wide variety of strategies to enhance learning.
